Choose love, not war

I know that you are afraid, my dear, my love

As you and I share the same human blood

And in this time, we all seek a way to feel safe

As we are afraid of the implications of our race.

And the pressure around force us to choose a side

But Oneness is the language of the inner guide.

As how could it be that our faith in God, would divide?

Is it not just the arrogance of people and their pride?

I pray that now is a time for peace

And from this escalating war, we are freed

As no matter what religion, we all cry for our dead

And grief is not guided by how a country is lead.

How does one respond when overcome by tears?

I try to choose love, when faced with fear.
